Jhett Johnson, World Champion Team Roper, has competed professionally since 1992. While Johnson grew up on his family ranch in Wyoming, he didn’t grow up in a rodeo family. His brother began Team Roping in junior high and then Jhett followed in his footsteps. He pursued he dream professionally which lead to a World Championship Title in 2011. Johnson lives in Casper, Wyoming on the family ranch with his wife, Jenny and their three boys. His hobbies include playing cards and ranching.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in regards to the structure of an ERA event?
A: I am looking forward to the excitement that you’re competing against the best in the world.
Q: Tell us about your rookie year and any advice you have for those just starting out?
A: Stay focused and truly never give up!
Q: Tell us your most memorable moment in rodeo that you can remember while growing up
and being a fan of rodeo.
A: I was just getting started rodeoing and we were at my home town rodeo in Casper, Wyoming. In the Team Roping, Denton Pain and Rich Skelton were a 5 flat and I thought that was amazing.
Q: What does your family mean to your success?
A: My family means everything. Since I am traveling, my wife stays home and holds it all together. My dad and my brother help with the ranch to take up the slack when I’m gone and I appreciate all the support from everyone.
