Chandler Bownds, Professional Bull Rider has competed professionally since 2011. He is a young athlete who has ice water in his veins. We asked him what he thinks about before jumping in the chute he said, “Well as a Bull Rider, I want to be aggressive and know that I am about to conquer the animal that I draw.”

Bownds was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. His hobbies include hanging out with friends, cooking out, hunting and playing golf.

Q: What do you want the fans to know most about ERA?
A: I want the fans to know they are getting to see the best athletes at each ERA event they attend and that the ERA is better the sport of rodeo.
Q: Who was your mentor or role model at the start of your career?
A: Lyndal Hurst, a stock contractor from Slaton, Texas helped me get my start riding and hauled me all over the country to ride his bulls.
Q: What does practice look like to you?
A: I like to get on a few practice bulls every now and then, but I mostly just work on technique.
Q: Any special rodeo road pets that travel with you?
A:Every now and then my family gets to come. I take my dog, Smokey, with me over the summer in the RV.
